The anniversary collection is a careful selection of the most legendary Fritz Hansen designs. To celebrate the 150th anniversary, Fritz Hansen launches the PK61™ in a new Norwegian marble that bears a striking resemblance to the original material chosen by Poul Kjærholm. The grey-white Norwegian marble comes from Fauske, near the Arctic Circle. This particular stone was chosen because of its striking resemblance to Porsgrunn marble originally preferred by Poul Kjærholm, which is unfortunately no longer available today. The marble surface is rolled and shows a beautiful wave structure. Each piece is unique and is characterized by attractive mineral inclusions, which shimmer in gold or silver nuances depending on the incidence of light. The PK61™ coffee table is one of Poul Kjærholm's most elemental and minimalist creations. Although the construction is limited to a set of identical components, the angular, aesthetic design has programmatic appeal and demonstrates that Kjærholm has evolved from an industrial designer to a furniture designer. The four frame components are screwed together and contribute to the unique look of the table. The removable tabletop, in turn, shows that Kjærholm uses gravity to position components. As protection for everyday use, Fritz Hansen recommends treating the marble with Stone Wash. Stone Wash is included with the purchase of every PK marble product. The first treatment with Stone Wash enhances the colour of the Grey White marble. Colour: grey/white Material: Frame: matt brushed stainless steel.
